We have uncovered some of the more interesting prop available for your consideration. (championship/bowl games not included):
Player to Record Most Passing Yards
Jacory Harris, Miami-Florida (+100.5 yards) vs. Christian Ponder, Florida State (-100.5 yards)
Two of the top signal-callers in the ACC are squaring off in this prop. Harris threw for 3,164 yards in the 2009 regular season. On average, he attempted 31 passes per game as a sophomore. Ponder was named the ACC Player of the Year in the preseason heading into 2010. He passed for 2,717 yards in 2009 but missed the last three games of the regular season due to injury. If Ponder would have played 12 games, he was on pace to throw for 3,624 yards. He averaged 37 pass attempts per game.
Player to Record Most Passing Touchdowns
Jordan Jefferson, LSU (+1.5 touchdowns) vs. Terrelle Pryor, Ohio State (-1.5 touchdowns)
As a sophomore in 2009, Jefferson tossed 16 TD strikes in 11 regular season outings. On average, he threw the ball 25 times per game for the Tigers. LSU is seeking to improve its running game in 2010 after struggling on the ground last season. If the rushing attack doesn't get on track, Jefferson may be forced to throw the ball even more this season. Pryor also tossed 16 TD passes in 2010 while appearing in all 12 regular season contests for the Buckeyes in 2009. He averaged 22 pass attempts per game. Pryor is more of a dual threat quarterback than Jefferson. He gained 707 yards on the ground for Ohio State in the regular season on 142 rushing attempts.
Player to Record Most Receiving Touchdowns
Julio Jones, Alabama (+1.5 touchdowns) vs. A.J. Green, Georgia (-1.5 touchdowns)
The top two receivers in the SEC are competing in this prop. As he enters his junior season, Jones is still an emerging threat in the Alabama offense. He has grabbed just four touchdown catches in each of his two collegiate seasons. For an Alabama offense that has one of the top backfields in the nation, Jones sometimes gets overlooked in the Crimson Tide attack. Green had six TD catches in the 2009 regular season despite missing three games due to injury. He grabbed eight touchdowns as a freshman in 2008. Green's opportunities could be limited a little bit in 2010. Georgia's offense will be directed by freshman quarterback Aaron Murray this season.
