Toronto, ON (Sports Network) - The Toronto Argonauts extended the contracts of both running back Andre Durie and linebacker Jordan Younger on Thursday.
Durie, a native of nearby Mississauga, set career highs with 665 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 54 catches, and added 106 rushing yards on 18 carries last season.
He was given an extension through the 2014 campaign.
"It is a true honour to represent the Toronto Argonauts for another term," said Durie in a statement. "In 2007, they gave me my first opportunity at a chance to play football again when no other teams would and I knew that I was forever indebted and would be loyal to the organization, the community and the fans who have supported me throughout my football career. Re-signing helps me continue my childhood dream."
Younger, raised in New Jersey and schooled at UConn, posted 42 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble in 2011 in his eighth year with Toronto.
"I wear the Double Blue of the Toronto Argonauts with a great sense of pride. There have been so many influential people that I have met during my time with the club and they have affected my life in a profound way," said Younger. "From the team, to the front office, to the fan club, there are special people in and around this organization. Professionally, I am honoured to be considered a part of what this coaching staff believes to be a championship- calibre team."
Toronto, which hosts the 100th Grey Cup in November, finished last in the East Division with a 6-12 record.
