Football Betting: A look at some NFL props

April 5th, 2010

While the start of the NFL season is still over five months away, bookmakers are still coming up with some interesting prop wagers for bettors to ponder during the offseason. Here’s a look at some of the NFL props:

Will Ndamukong Suh be the 1st Pick of the 2010 NFL Draft? (No -170, Yes +130)

After his dominant performance against Texas in the Big 12 title game, the Nebraska defensive tackle was viewed by many as a logical top choice for the St. Louis Rams. Now, Suh could be passed over in the first two picks by a couple of Oklahoma Sooners. After recently completing a strong workout day for NFL scouts, quarterback Sam Bradford has emerged as the favorite to be the Rams choice. Defensive tackle Gerald McCoy is also gaining momentum on many draft boards.

Which QB will be selected first in the 2010 NFL Draft? (Sam Bradford -500, Jimmy Clausen +300)

After his pro day, Bradford has erased most doubts about any lingering issues concerning his surgically repaired throwing shoulder. Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen is expected to be the second quarterback selected in the draft. If the Rams grab Bradford, the Washington Redskins will strongly consider Clausen with the fourth overall pick of the first round.

Which RB will be selected first in the 2010 NFL Draft? (C.J. Spiller -600, Jahvid Best +350)

Clemson running back C.J. Spiller has impressed NFL scouts with his versatility. In addition to his talents as a runner and a pass catcher, Spiller was an impressive kick return specialist for the Tigers. After averaging over eight yards per carry as a sophomore in 2008, California’s Jahvid Best missed the last four games of his junior campaign to due to some concussion issues. The style of each back is similar to Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson.

Will Brett Favre Play in Week #1 of 2010 NFL Regular Season? (Yes -140, No +100)

The legendary NFL quarterback has been flirting with retirement since the end of the 2005 season. In the previous two offseasons, the 40-year-old Favre has come out of brief retirements to keep on playing. So far in this offseason, Favre hasn’t made any declarations either way but most expect him to return to the Minnesota Vikings in 2010 after posting one of the best seasons of his career for the club in 2009.

Hi – very good web site you could have made. I appreciated reading this writing. I did want to issue a comment to tell you that the actual design and style of this internet site is really aesthetically delightful. I used to be a graphic designer, now I am a copy editor in chief for a advertising company. I have always enjoyed playing with information processing systems and i’m trying to learn pc code in my own free time (which there is never enough of lol).
